The Old Faithful Lodge, which is less than 50 yards to the left of Old Faithful as you look at it. The Old Faithful Inn is about 100 yeards to its right.
A rainbow archs over the Old Faithful Lodge. Teresa is in the foreground. Thunderstorms occur frequently in the late afternoons during the summer. On the day we were there, the sky got very dark, and we even saw a rainbow, but we only got a light sprinkling of rain.
The cabins at the Old Faithful Lodge are very close to Old Faithful itself. We stayed in the cabins, which are small single rooms with a bathroom and shower. They're rustic, but very clean and enormously convenient.
Here's a shot inside the Old Faithful Inn, which is an amazing log structure built around the turn of the century in 1903-04.
As we left dinner at the Old Faithful Inn about 6:15 pm, there were two geysers erupting at the same time. In the distance about a mile away, Grand geyser was erupting. Nearby, the Beehive geyser was also blowing, which we captured in this photo.
